Diarrhoea outbreak claims one more
DOTI, JUL 31 -
A six-year-old girl, Ganga Nagari, died of diarrhoea while undergoing treatment at a clinic in Khatiada VDC of Doti on Monday. Only last Saturday, 12-year-old Padma Kunwar from Basudevi VDC had succumbed to the disease that has now spread to many parts of the district.
The District Public Health Office has claimed that the diarrhoeal outbreak in Doti is in check, despite the disease claiming nine lives since mid-June and placed hundreds more in the hospital.
However, Gobinda Joshi of the Doti chapter of the Nepal Bar Association said that the government and other concerned authorities have not taken any concrete measures to control the disease. Joshi warned that more people could lose their lives if authorities continued to ignore the situation.
